June 2019 at The Porch at 30th Street Station

May 30, 2019 4 years ago

We have an exciting month at The Porch at 30th! This June we have a great selection of food trucks vending lunch each weekday, plus we'll be re-opening the Pub at The Porch and unveiling a new shade structure with charging stations. Oh, and did we mention free lunchtime music is returning?

  • From May 28th through June 26th, we'll be hosting the StoryCorps MobileBooth, a recording studio housed within a converted Airstream trailer, at The Porch! While there, StoryCorps staff, in partnership with WHYY, will meet with locals for meaningful conversations that will be preserved in the StoryCorps Archive in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.
  • June will also see the return of the Pub at The Porch, our outdoor drinking destination run by Bridgewater's Pub. Now located on the western edge of The Porch, the Pub will open in mid-June and serve drinks Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings from 4 - dark. As of June 12th, the Pub is officially opened for business!
  • We're bringing back lunchtime performances at The Porch, presented by PECO! Come dance to Magdaliz and Her Latin Ensemble Crisol on June 4th and feel the power of the East Wind Korean Percussion on June 18th! Both performances begin at noon.
  • Finally, we'll be installing a new structure that will be perfect for lounging, relaxing, and recharging both yourself and your cell phone. More details coming soon!
