In partnership with the Friends of Clark Park, cinéSPEAK, and Shakespeare in Clark Park, we are excited to share plans for the return of in-person large events in Clark Park this summer. To adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines from the City of Philadelphia, all three partnering organizations will require free online reservations for large events in the park this summer. We will adjust plans as necessary as restrictions change.

UCD's Movies in Clark Park

Clark Park will once again play host to our popular movie series Fridays in August! We'll present four weeks of movies in fair weather, with a rain date of Friday, September 17th. Please stay tuned for more programming details and registration links closer to the date. This year our schedule will be:

  • August 6th: Black Panther. We're excited to reschedule a screening of this action-packed entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after having it rained out twice in 2018. Starring the late Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther is a rousing superhero story sure to bring the audience to its feet.
  • August 13th: A League of Their Own. This delightful classic tells the story of two sisters who make a splash as stars of an all-female baseball league formed during World War II.
  • August 20th: The Iron Giant. This critically-acclaimed animated Cold War fable showcases the unlikely friendship between a young boy and a giant alien robot.
  • August 27th: Concrete Cowboy. Sent to live with his estranged father for the summer, a rebellious teen finds kinship in a tight-knit Philadelphia community of Black cowboys. Please note: This film is rated R.
  • September 17th: Rain date if necessary.
