UCD Welcomes Drexel University's Julie Ann Jones to Board of Trustees

Jun 22, 2021 2 years ago

We are pleased to announce Drexel Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer Julie Ann Jones, PMP has joined our Board of Directors here at University City District. Our board, composed of community, business, institutional, and non-profit leaders from within University City, underwrites our Clean and Safe program and provides much-needed operating support.

At Drexel, Julie provides oversight on purchasing processes and facilitates the University’s construction relationships and the economic impact goals agreed upon in those partnerships. She was instrumental in Drexel's response to COVID-19, helping to facilitate stringent expense management to weather the financial impact of the pandemic. Julie’s vision for, and execution of, Drexel’s Supplier Inclusion Program places Drexel at the forefront of this work in higher education.

Julie joined Drexel as AVP of Procurement Services in January 2018, after 15 years in various functional and technical roles within information technology, finance, and procurement. During her three-year tenure at Drexel, Julie has worked with colleagues across the University to restructure procurement policies and processes, collaborated with Drexel IT and a procurement analyst to develop critical and detailed expense reporting, and assumed leadership of Accounts Payable to better align its functions with procurement. She created a position dedicated to supplier diversity and later rebranded the program to supplier inclusion to better reflect its mission to pursue a more inclusive procurement model.

We are very excited for Julie to bring her expertise and extensive experience to our board.
