SUMMARY:Revitalize and Renew: Spring Restorative Yoga Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Monica Fauble\, Licensed Acupuncturist and Certified Yoga Teacher\, for a special seasonal alignment restorative yoga session. Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that encourages rest and relaxation. \n\n\n\nIn this seasonal alignment workshop\, we will explore the energy of spring according to Chinese Medicine. The energetic direction of spring in Chinese Medicine theory is “up and out”. Just as nature springs forth with new growth\, we will explore how to uncover more energetic engagement during this season of rebirth and growth. \n\n\n\nAlong with a short talk about how to best harmonize with the energy of spring\, participants will receive handouts with seasonal health tips and journaling prompts to help them make the most of this season. \n\n\n\nThe majority of our time together during this workshop will be spent practicing seasonally-inspired restorative yoga postures that will help you explore the energy of this season. \n\n\n\nWhile most yoga practices work with tension and release\, strength and stretch\, restorative yoga aims to thoughtfully set up each posture with lots of props and support in order to aid the body in relaxing more deeply and letting go. \n\n\n\nWe will stay close to the ground during this practice. During this session you will be either seated or lying down with the support of blankets and props. Studio 34 Yoga will provide all of the props that you need to find comfort and to create lots of support for yourself. \n\n\n\nLoose\, comfortable clothing in which you can move easily is recommended. \n\n\n\nThis practice is beginner-friendly. No previous yoga experience is needed to attend. \n\n\n\nSpace for this event is limited. Please pre-register to reserve your spot. \n\n\n\nYour instructor Monica Fauble is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-200). In addition to her 200-hour yoga teacher certification\, Monica also completed a 108 Restorative Yoga Teacher Training. DESCRIPTION:The Spruce Hill Community Association is excited to announce that its annual May Fair community gathering returns to Clark Park on Saturday May 9th from noon to 6 p.m. This year’s event marks the 68th time that SHCA will host this popular West Philadelphia event\, which features a wide array of family-friendly activities\, local arts and crafts vendors\, live music\, food purveyors and our popular $1 raffle baskets. The event is free and open to the public. The 2026 May Fair will be focused as always on fun for the whole family\, with live music throughout the day\, a petting zoo\, outdoor games\, a moon bounce\, and face painting. The city’s top food trucks and vendors will serve up delicious treats to keep guests energized all afternoon. The event will also feature more than 60 vendors offering an array of arts\, crafts and other items for sale\, alongside community organizations providing information and give-aways. The University City Garden Club will be present with a full selection of herbs\, perennials\, vegetables\, and other plants for sale. DESCRIPTION:Our youngest witches and wizards explore the magic of the natural world through sensory play and simple crafts. They’ll collect plants and flowers\, make natural paints from berries and leaves\, create fairy gardens\, and learn that nature holds endless creative possibilities. \n\n\n\nBlooms (3rd-5th Grade): Herbalists & Makers \n\n\n\nMiddle-level students dive into natural dyeing techniques\, create herbal sachets and botanical crafts\, and learn about the properties of different plants. They’ll experiment with creating pigments from natural materials\, press flowers\, and make outdoor potions while understanding how people have used plants throughout history. \n\n\n\nRoots (6th-12th Grade): Wild Craft Studio \n\n\n\nOur oldest students master advanced natural dyeing techniques like eco-printing and bundle dyeing\, learn about foraging ethics and plant identification\, and create herbal remedies. They’ll explore the intersection of art\, herbalism\, and sustainability\, transforming foraged materials into sophisticated textiles\, natural inks\, and botanical art while deepening their connection to the natural world.
