THE CONCEPT: TAKING PHILADELPHIA’S GREEK CULINARY TRAGEDY AND SPINNING IT INTO A MODERN ROMANCE.

Philly is finally about to get the authentic Greek food it deserves. From amateur food carts to sub-par takeout, Philadelphia has been suffering from a gyro problem of epic proportions—a Greek tragedy sweeping the streets of the city.  Recognizing the dire need for a hero to rescue the reputation of Greek cuisine and give the people an authentic gyro they can truly fall in love with, we decided to bring the tastes and flavors we grew up with to our hometown.  It always bothered us that gyro sandwiches in Philadelphia never tasted like the ones we ate as kids.  So, we decided to do something about it, and created a menu that is unique, customizable, and stays true to our roots.

Our go-to menu item is, without-a-doubt, the gyro.  The iconic sandwich starts with the highest-quality meat, slow roasted in authentic Greek spices on a cone-shaped rotisserie, and finishes by being carefully sliced into generous portions.  Your custom gyro will come equipped with all the delicious toppings of your choice, wrapped inside a fluffy pita for a hearty meal that pays tribute to our Greek heritage. You’ll also find amazing dishes like homemade spanakopita, a fun self-serve Greek yogurt bar, sweet fried puffs called loukoumades (make sure you add Nutella!), and flaky baklava—all at affordable prices. Everything about Yiro Yiro is fresh.  From the name, which means ‘round and round,’ a tip to our rotisserie style of cooking; to our simple, innovative menu; to our modern interior; to the feeling you get when you visit.  Step inside and you can almost smell the Mediterranean Sea, transporting you to a land where the beaches are beautiful, the people are friendly, and the food is always deliciously homemade.

THE PARTNERS: NEIGHBORHOOD EXPERIENCE MEETS UP-AND-COMING TALENT.

As we all know, “Philadelphia” in Greek means “the City of Brotherly Love.”  And that’s exactly what you’ll get from Yiro Yiro when you visit us in Roxborough – two sets of brothers with a passion for authentic, fresh Mediterranean food and a devotion to the community they serve.  This is the Avgiris Brothers’ first venture into honest, quality dining, but their friends the Bouikidis Brothers are neighborhood staples, having transformed Zesto Pizza & Grill into the local landmark it is today.  Together, the two families are opening Yiro Yiro in Roxborough to cater to young professionals, families, and college students looking for a healthy, quick, and fulfilling alternative to the same old dining options.

Come experience a fresh new spin on fast Greek.
