During University City’s ten-day showcase of University City’s diverse culinary offerings, participating restaurants offer a pre-fixe three-course dinner special for $15, $25 or $30. Every year, University City Dining Days attracts more than 30,000 diners to University City restaurants, increasing their revenues and providing invaluable promotion.
Now in its 13th year, the 40th Street Summer Series has grown to be one of the most popular outdoor summer events in University City. Produced in partnership with Penn and the Rotunda, this free outdoor live performance series features internationally-recognized talent in one of “West Philly’s picturesque open green spaces” (Philadelphia Weekly).
For five weeks beginning in August, UCD will transform Clark Park, located at 4398 Chester Avenue, into an outdoor theater to screen showings of family favorites and classic films. These free movies bring thousands out to the Park--a safe, family-friendly event for the neighborhood.
One of University City’s greatest events, the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll brings more than five thousand attendees out for an evening of deals, dining and more. Along Baltimore Avenue, from 42nd to 52nd streets, new and longstanding merchants open their doors and offer deals for a dollar.
State of University City
Our marquis annual event, State of University City highlights the most significant achievements and innovations in our remarkable community. State of University City is one of Philadelphia’s key economic development events, providing the opportunity to interface with key business, education, civic and government leaders.
The Porch is University City District’s premier public space, a vibrant and welcoming gateway to the city, intercepting 35,000 commuters and travelers each day. Adjacent to 30th Street Station and the Market-Frankford line, The Porch has more than 2,000 unique users each day, and 20,000 visitors and commuters traverse the site daily. This is an ideal place to conduct product samplings and onsite activations.
