Learn How to Garden With Drought Tolerant Plants

Jun 29, 2011 13 years ago

Even though we don't live in an arid part of the country, conserving water is always a good idea. And if you have a garden to attend to, things can be stressful at this time of year, when rain can be scarce and temperatures are high. One way to reduce that anxiety is to grow plants that require very little water (what they call xeriscaping in the industry). Just in time for these hot dry summer days, the Penn State Extension Philadelphia Master Gardeners will be offering a workshop on xeriscaping entitled "Succulent Delights." When: Saturday, July 9 (9AM Registration, 9:30 Workshop Begins) Where: Fairmount Park Horticultural Center (N. Horticultural and Montgomery Drive) Registration is $10 and more information is available at http://extension.psu.edu/philadelphia/programs/master-gardener or by calling Penn State Extension at 215-471-2200 Ext 100.
