Community Vending at the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll

University City District (UCD) will hold the next edition of the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll in 2024 on the evenings of Thursday, September 5th. The event draws thousands of neighbors and visitors to enjoy dollar deals from participating vendors. In 2022, we expanded the price levels vendors can offer from $1 deals to deals for $1, $3, OR $5.

SEPTA's Annual "Trolley Blitz" Will Take Place Between July 12th and July 29th, 2024

Beginning at 10 PM on July 12th, 2024 SEPTA crews will work around the clock, tackling critical track and power maintenance, station upgrades, and intensive cleaning as part of the 2024 Trolley Tunnel Blitz. The work will conclude by Monday, July 29th at 6 AM. Trolleys will not operate in the tunnel at any time during the Blitz. Route 10 [T1], Route 34 [T2], Route 13 [T3], Route 11 [T4] and Route 36 [T5] are suspended between 13th Street and 40th Street Portal until 6 am, July 29.

Today, University City gained a new, independently-owned grocery store with the opening of a Grocery Outlet Bargain Market. The store is owned and operated by Jaelyn and Jaida Deas, two sisters from California with extensive experience in grocery retail operations.
