Fragments of Lesbos: After Sappho Reading & Sharing Circle (Second Meeting)

July 13 @ 2:00 pm 5:00 pm

Join an intimate reading circle exploring the lives of sapphic artists Virginia Woolf, Sarah Bernhardt, Natalie Barney, and Eleonora Duse through selected passages from “After Sappho” by Selby Wynn Schwartz. Participants are invited to bring poems, art, music, or reflections about these historical figures to share. No need to read the book ahead of time – passage scans will be provided. This gathering serves as research for Danielle Levsky’s upcoming immersive theatrical project “Sappho’s Salon.” The event is open to all who identify as queer and aims to challenge dominant historical narratives while centering queer artistic practices. This is a masked event with masks provided at the door. Limited to 18 participants for intimate discussion format.
