Volunteer Day at Walnut Hill Community Playground

October 4 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

Volunteers help remove the flooring at the Walnut Hill Playground

We are excited to invite community members to a volunteer day at the Walnut Hill Playground! These efforts will kick off phase 2 of the playground renovations.

After installing a new retaining wall with seating, we hope you’ll join us to install plants in the garden bed, so that next spring the space is alive with color and texture. We’ll provide the plants, tools and instructions, just come ready to get your hands dirty.

To participate, please e-mail awhittenberger@universitycity.org.

University City District’s Green City Works, in partnership with the Walnut Hill Community Association and Do Moore Good, is leading improvements at the playground, made possible by a $75,000 Target Foundation investment. Guided by input from more than 70 neighbors, early work includes a new play surface and upgraded safety features, with future plans for shade, games, and new equipment. Together, we’re helping transform this beloved community space, and we welcome all community members to participate!
