Movies in Clark Park

Since its debut in 2015, the event has drawn tens of thousands of visitors, showcasing family favorites, blockbusters, cult classics, and more under the stars. Screenings typically occur on Fridays in August beginning at sundown.

 

University City Movie Night in Clark Park Outdoors

Presented in partnership with Friends of Clark Park, Philadelphia Parks and Rec, and Premiere Outdoor Movies, UCD screens films on select summer Fridays at sundown in the Clark Park Bowl (43rd and Chester) during fair weather.

After conducting a community vote, our 2026 lineup of films tied to the theme of “Freedom” will be:

August 7th: A League of Their Own (1992)

During World War II, sisters Dottie and Kit join the first female professional baseball league and struggle to help it succeed amid their own growing rivalry. Starring Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Rosie O’Donnell and Madonna.

August 14th: Harriet (2019)

From her escape from slavery through the dangerous missions she led to liberate hundreds of slaves through the Underground Railroad, don’t miss the story of heroic abolitionist Harriet Tubman. Starring Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr. Joe Alwyn, and Janelle Monáe.

August 21st: Zootopia 2 (2025)

Brave rabbit cop Judy Hopps and her friend, the fox Nick Wilde, team up again to crack a new case, the most perilous and intricate of their careers. Starring the voice talents of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, He Huy Quan, Andy Sandberg, and more.

August 28th: The Matrix (1999)

A computer hacker learns from mysterious rebels about the true nature of his reality and his role in the war against its controllers. Starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne, and Hugo Weaving.

UCD requires dry conditions in the Clark Park bowl to screen films without risking damage to the park. UCD may elect to postpone or cancel film screenings due to the following conditions:
