Schmear Bagel Parlor

In 2023, longtime University City favorite Schmear It acquired Philly Bagels’ five retail locations and launched a rebranding effort. The team has now debuted the new Schmear Bagel Parlor concept at a newly refreshed space in University City! Schmear Bagel Parlor combines the best of Philly Bagels’ long Philly history with Schmear It’s customizable “exschmearience” that accommodates a range of dietary needs and interests. Plant & People has officially moved from 52nd Street to their new home on Lancaster Avenue. The new space is a cozy spot where you can sip on coffee and teas, connect with neighbors at community events, and discover new plants! With a new cafe, free WiFi, and plant-y photo ops, it’s the perfect home away from home.

Bebashi – Transition to Hope

Bebashi – Transition to Hope has officially opened its new headquarters in University City. This move enhances Bebashi’s capacity to provide critical health services, education, and social support, reinforcing its commitment to addressing health disparities in communities in need! The expanded space offers a welcoming environment for community members to access healthcare, education, and social services.

Haraz Coffee House has opened its doors, introducing Philadelphia to the rich tradition of Yemeni coffee.
