Dahlak Restaurant Gets a Celebrity Makeover from Gordon Ramsay

West Philadelphia’s beloved Dahlak gets a celebrity makeover on Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service, making changes at the family-run Eritrean eatery.

After 40 years in service, Dahlak Paradise (4708 Baltimore Ave) has earned it’s title of a local institution, serving authentic Eritrean cuisine and hosting events for the neighborhood.

After decades of serving the community, the restaurant was ready for a refresh. In August 2025, Dahlak was featured on Gordon Ramsay’s show Secret Service (Season 1, Episode 11). The celebrity chef paid a visit to West Philadelphia to meet with the staff and find areas for improvement within the restaurant’s operation.
