Trolley Portal Gardens West Philadelphia Public space crowd

UCD partners with local arts and culture organizations, small businesses, and local talent to program free, family-friendly events at Trolley Portal Gardens, located at the 40th Street Trolley Portal at 40th Street and Baltimore Avenue. Our recurring events include music performances running May into June, a fall pumpkin patch featuring arts and crafts activities, our annual Holiday Hoopla celebration each December, and various pop-ups and activations throughout the year.

While enjoying the Trolley Portal Gardens, be sure to stop by Renata’s Kitchen, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar at the Portal!

Pop-Ups at The Portal

Every spring, we team with local performer and curator Gretchen Elise for five weeks of free, all-ages entertainment. Pop-ups run on Thursdays in May and early June from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Holiday Hoopla

Every December, UCD has a Cocoa and Crafts with The Grinch event on a Saturday in early December, as part of our Holiday Hoopla.
