Each summer University City District partners with local businesses, restaurants, organizations, and performers to present a robust schedule of free and fun events throughout University City. Save the dates! University City Dining Days will return to the neighborhood this year from Thursday, July 20th through Sunday, July 30th. Dining Days is our “3 Courses, 3 Prices” promotion at many of University City’s most popular dining destinations. Over 20 restaurants have already signed up with more on the way! We’re excited to welcome first-time participants like Garces Trading Company, chef Jose Garces' small casual restaurant and market, as well as long-time favorites like Pattaya, Jezabel's, Walnut Street Cafe, and more! Keep an eye on our Dining Days website at ucdiningdays.com to learn about participating restaurants and special menus!
UCD, in partnership with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and Friends of Clark Park, will once again present Movies in Clark Park, four Fridays of free outdoor movies running from August 4th through August 25th presented by TD Bank. Films will be screened beginning at sundown in the Clark Park bowl during fair weather. Bring a blanket or chair and join the fun!
- Raiders of the Lost Ark on August 4th: Indiana Jones' original adventure back on the big screen!
- Encanto on August 11th: Sing along to the smash Disney hit.
- King Richard on August 18th: The uplifting story of Venus and Serena Williams and their driven father.
- Top Gun: Maverick on August 25th: The long-awaited sequel to the 80s classic.
Keep an eye on our Movies in Clark Park page for updates! Movies are shown in fair weather only. The rain date for a movie canceled due to weather will be September 15th.
Looking for more to do in Clark Park? Check out dates for CinéSPEAK Under the Stars films starting Friday, May 26th, for Shakespeare in Clark Park's production of Two Gentlemen of Verona: The Musical at the end of July, and two visits from Parks on Tap, the popular traveling beer garden!

Enjoy free programming at Trolley Portal Gardens, our public space at 40th and Baltimore! We're presenting six weeks of free, all-ages interactive music on Thursday evenings, presented in partnership with local musician Gretchen Elise. Through June 15th, artists will perform from 5 PM to 7 PM, with performances moving inside Renata's during inclement weather. The schedule will be:
- May 18: Zay Money and Friends - 10-year-old rapper, singer, & dancer.
- May 25: Ants on a Log - Music for children and childlike people.
- June 1: Pierre Paloma & M.O.M. - Inflight interactive percussion jam.
- June 8: AfrVbz & DJ ACube - Afrobeats dance party!
- June 15 - Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll Night: Gretchen Elise featuring The Authentic - Hip-hop and jazz open mic.
