Open Call: Baltimore Avenue Banner Design Competition

UCD installed and now maintains more than 70 pedestrian streetlamps along Baltimore Avenue, between 45th and 50th streets. This includes the maintenance of colorful Baltimore Avenue banners currently on display. Coming this spring, we’ll be replacing the current banners with new banners designed . . . by you?

Here are the basics:

• UCD is currently accepting proposals for design work that will ultimately be fabricated as a 
24 x 36 inch banner and installed along Baltimore Avenue, beginning in early 2012.
• The design competition is open to everyone.
• An individual can submit multiple concepts.
• We are particularly interested in work that is responsive to Baltimore Avenue and the neighborhood, but the sky is the limit!
• The winner will receive $200 in University City restaurant gift certificates and $300 in cash, and your artwork on over 70 banners!
• Submissions are due Friday, March 2. 
Late submissions will not be accepted.
