(Philadelphia, PA) – University City District (UCD) is excited to announce the highly-anticipated return of the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll scheduled for Thursday, September 12 from 5:30 to 8:30pm. University City’s Baltimore Avenue between 43rd and 51st Street will come alive to celebrate its charm with one-night-only $1 bargains. And the special $1 items are as eclectic as the businesses offering them, including Milk & Honey, Dock Street Brewery and Firehouse Bikes, as well as newcomers Little Baby’s Ice Cream and The Green Tambourine. From $1 crafts and kazoos to $1 vegan baked goods and samosas to $1 smoothies and Dock Street brews, this warm West Philadelphia evening will surely be festive and fun. 

XPN favorite The Fleeting Ends will perform live from the 46th Street Triangle, along with fire artists and street performers Give & Take Jugglers. Free face painting and balloon artists will also be hand to help entertain the little ones. Additional food trucks such as Jimmies Cupcake Co., Sunflower Truck Stop, The Tot Cart, and Lil Dan’s Food Truck will also be selling $1 items along the avenue.

Not enough? There’ll be giveaways, and Clark Park host the weekly Thursday Farmers’ Market (from 3-7pm) featuring fresh food and additional food trucks. And be sure to stop by Clark Park at 6:30pm for The Mp3 Experiment, a participatory public event created by Improv Everywhere, where hilarity ensues as participants carry out ridiculous, coordinated instructions delivered to their headphones. The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll will also showcase UCD’s Parklet locations – in front of Little Baby’s Ice Cream and Fu-Wah Market and the new Baltimore Crossing pedestrian plaza at 48th & Baltimore.

The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll will be held rain or shine and is produced by University City District and sponsored by AroundPhilly, BenFM, Campus Philly, Philadelphia City Paper, Philebrity, Daily Pennsylvanian, Grid Magazine, Metro, Philadelphia Weekly, Philly Fun Guide, Snapple, State Farm, UC Review, UCNet and Y-Not Radio.
