Breaking: University City District To Add Mini-Golf To The Porch At 30th Street Station For The Month Of July; Plus The Park To Transform Into An Open-Air Beer Garden With Live Music And Food, July 12-14

University City District doesn’t mess around; this month alone they’re launching The Dirt Factory, an innovative and super-green new composting facility; “Heart & Soul: The University City Public Piano Project,” an interactive public art exhibition featuring eight artist-decorated pianos on sidewalks, in parks and public spaces; and have hosted farmers markets, fitness classes and live concerts at the Porch at 30th Street Station.

The Porch, which debuted last November, is an exciting public space adjacent to the second busiest train station in the country, with colorful tables and seating, plantings and fun programming. It’s already been recognized by Dwell Magazine as one of “The Now 99″ in design.

And not only did University City District just receive a grant from ArtPlace, a new national collaboration to accelerate creative placemaking across the U.S., in support of redesigning and creating a permanent art installation at the Porch at 30th Street Station.
