The Philadelphia Tribune: Citizens Bank presents $50,000 grant to University City District

The Citizens Bank Foundation has presented a $50,000 grant to the University City District's West Philadelphia Skills Initiative, an innovative job training program that connects West Philadelphia employers to unemployed West Philadelphians. In partnership wit Drexel University College of Medicine, WPSI engages participants in intensive skills training using a curriculum designed to prepare certified medical assistants for success with the employer partner. Upon completion of the six month training program. participants are immediately eligible for full time permanent positions with Drexel College of Medicine.

The $50,000 grant falls under Citizens Bank's Growing Communities initiative which launched in 2013 in partnership with Drexel University design to impact neighborhood revitalization, create jobs, and increase financial literacy in West Philadelphia.
