  • Parks on Tap in Clark Park 
    • Parks on Tap, the roving beer garden put on by the Fairmount Park Conservancy, is returning to Clark Park from Wednesday, August 29th through Monday, September 3rd!  Check their website for special events.

  • Author Reading and Comedy at Dock Street Cannery
    • The Dock Street Cannery will host two great nights of creativity! On September 6, four accomplished local authors will share their writing at 7pm, and then friends and neighbors can read work aloud on the mic. On September 26th, 7 local comics will perform free comedy.

  • Distrito's 10th Anniversary Block Party
    • On Saturday, September 8th Distrito will be throwing a street festival to celebrate their 10th anniversary! The event will feature with Chef Jose Garces, live music from The Collctve, Distrito favorites like tacos, quesadillas, and of course, margaritas! The family-friendly day includes face painting, raffles, prizes, and a photo booth! Ticket price includes admission, one drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), and two tacos.

  • N2N Street Festival: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin 

    • The N2N (Neighborhood to Neighborhood) Festival returns to West Philly with a tribute to Aretha Franklin! Come out and listen to Kathy Sledge, Jean Carne, Kelly Price, Kindred the Family Soul, Keke Wyatt, and Monica pay tribute to the Queen of Soul. Don't miss performances by local artists as well as specials guests such as Wendell Holland, II, winner of this year's Survivor and hosts Comedian, Skeet and WDAS host, Patty Jackson. 

 


 

  • High Holidays at Kol Tzedek Synagogue 
    • Join Kol Tzedek Synagogue for ten days of celebration and transformation! Communal services, meals, and family programming throughout Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

  • The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll
    • The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll, presented in association with the Baltimore Avenue Business Association (BABA), returns with $1 bargains from neighborhood favorites, ranging from bites from signature restaurants to pet supplies to theater tickets. The event also highlights new businesses along the constantly growing commercial corridor and assists community vendors with licensing and permitting through the Philadelphia Health Department so they can safely sell food.

  • New Sound Brass and Joy Ike

    • Our 40th Street Summer Series concludes with a performance by local favorites New Sound Brass and opener Joy Ike! New Sound Brass mixes funk, R&B, gospel and rock to make a sound that’s a fresh and soulful twist on various styles of music. Opening the show will be Joy Ike, whose percussive piano-playing and soaring vocals have drawn comparisons to Corinne Bailey Rae, Norah Jones, and Fiona Apple.

  • Intro to Permaculture at Greensgrow West 
    • Learn about the basics of permaculture and how to apply them in your own outdoor spaces with one of our staff experts. We will help you build your own backyard conversion plan, including a personalized perennial fruit and vegetable list, to give you all the knowledge you need to make your garden flourish sustainably.

  • University City MIX Networking Event
    • University City District's networking event series MIX returns on Thursday, September 20. This edition will be held at 3737 Chestnut’s rooftop terrace from 5:30-7:30 pm, where you’re invited to network with other professionals in the area and enjoy light fare, beverages, and spectacular views of Philadelphia’s skyline. In the event of inclement weather, the networking will move indoors to their chic indoor lounge.

  • Garden Court Sip & See Saturdays
    • Garden Court Plaza is hosting a weekly Open House from 12-3pm, Sip & See Saturdays. Stop in for a tour of their newly renovated apartments and enjoy sipping on a complimentary mimosa as you SEE yourself living there.
