University City Dining Days Returns July 12-22nd

Jun 26, 2018 5 years ago

University City Dining Days, our popular “3 courses, 3 prices” promotion, returns for ten days this summer, running July 12th-22nd. Thirty six University City dining destinations – including five restaurants participating for the first time—will offer a pre-fixe three-course dinner special for $15, $25 or $35. Dining Days is part of UCD’s Summer in University City programming, which includes concerts, outdoor movies, pop-up performances and the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll.

University City’s culinary scene is one of the most eclectic and robust in Philadelphia, with a mix of family-owned restaurants and hotspots run by renowned local and national chefs and restaurateurs. University City is also known for its wide mix of international establishments, with restaurants specializing in cuisines from India, Ethiopia, China, Pakistan, Vietnam, Japan, Mexico City, and more. With 36 participating restaurants, this is the biggest version of Dining Days yet.

Dining Days offers neighbors a chance to sample food from their local restaurants at a fixed price, and draws visitors to University City’s ever-expanding dining scene during the typically slower summer months. Business at participating restaurants increases substantially during the promotion, so reservations are strongly encouraged.

Popular restaurants such as Zavino, Dock Street Brewery, White Dog Café, Stephen Starr’s Pod, City Tap, Han Dynasty, and more are now taking reservations for Dining Days. This year University City District is pleased to welcome five new restaurants to Dining Days: the sleek Walnut Street Café located in the FMC Tower; the upscale neighborhood spot Bernie’s University City; the Tipsy Bistro, a contemporary restaurant with global influences; Louie-Louie, an ode to European bistros from the owners of White Dog Café, and Baltimore Avenue’s Chili Garden.

This year University City is celebrating the start of Dining Days with a special food truck promotion at The Porch at 30th Street Station. Starting July 9th and running through the 13th, food trucks vending lunch at The Porch will offer special Dining Days combos. UCD will then host a Dining Days happy hour on Thursday, July 12 at the Pub at The Porch, the new outdoor beer garden located at The Porch.

Prices are for dinner only and do not include tax, gratuity or alcohol. Reservations should be made via OpenTable when available, or through the restaurants directly. Visit www.ucdiningdays.com for more information and for downloadable menus.
